Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to evaluate patient health care needs, triage, educate patients, and coordinate timely appointments. This role emphasizes adherence to HIPAA/OSHA rules, documentation in the EHR, and collaboration in care coordination teams.

Three years of clinical experience are preferred, with knowledge of disease processes and nursing assessment across age groups. Colorado RN license is required, with flexibility for state-specific regulations and remote work

Qualifications

• 3 years clinical experience with patient care and admin duties preferred.
• Knowledge of disease processes and growth/development of all age groups.
• Nursing assessment skills with/without visual inspection.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and triage patient needs based on signs and symptoms using established protocols.
• Participate in weekly huddles to review KPI and ensure KPI-aligned workflows.
• Obtain input from providers to determine best clinical actions.
• Document symptoms, nursing assessment, advice, and patient responses in the EHR.
• Follow policies and protocols to improve healthcare outcomes and access to care.
• Coordinate and schedule same-day and future appointments on provider schedules.
• Manage prescription refills per protocol.
• Provide patient education on chronic disease, prevention, and family health.
