Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to evaluate patient health care needs, document assessments, and coordinate care within our hospital system. The role supports quality improvement, uses triage protocols, and collaborates with providers to determine best clinical actions.

Requires 3 years of clinical experience, knowledge of disease processes, and HIPAA/OSHA compliance. State Colorado RN license or compact license is required, with compensation based on education and experience.

Qualifications

• 3 years clinical experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties preferred.
• Knowledge of disease processes, normal growth and development of all age groups required.
• HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and assesses patient’s health care needs based on patient’s signs and symptoms using established triage protocols.
• Participates in weekly huddles to review KPI and ensure KPI-approved workflows.
• Obtains input from the provider to determine the best clinical course of action and recommendations.
• Documents symptoms, nursing assessment, advice provided and patient/caller response in the EHR.
• Follows policies and protocols to ensure consistency and improve health outcomes.
• Coordinate and schedule same-day and future appointments on provider schedules.
• Manage prescription refills per protocol.
• Provide patient education on chronic disease, preventive care and family health.
