Job summary

The Michaels Organization is seeking a Traveling Recertification Specialist to support affordable housing across multiple communities. You will travel to assigned properties to requalify existing residents for occupancy and, when needed, qualify applicants for initial occupancy.

Role includes on-site and remote work, decision‑making authority on recertifications, and collaboration with Compliance leadership to uphold best practices.

Qualifications

• Three or more years’ experience with affordable multifamily housing management; LIHTC, COS, USDA-RD & other industry program certifications essential.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Two or more years of college preferred; training/testing may be mandated after hiring.
• Must provide own transportation; able to travel regularly; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to selected communities portfolio-wide as directed.
• Interact with field-based teammates in line with mission and core values.
• Conduct interviews and determine eligibility.
• Coordinate on-site data collections and processing of resident information.
• Schedule resident recertification interviews.
• Ensure proper calculation of income, assets, rent levels and completion of recertifications.
• Coordinate apartment inspections for recertifications with Rental Manager.
• Maintain resident files per company policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
