Job summary

Medina Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist to deliver trauma-informed outpatient care in a flexible remote position based in Babylon, NY. The role focuses on PTSD, complex trauma, and related disorders, offering strong collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds relevant licensure in NY and has 2+ years of post-licensure experience in trauma-focused therapy, with EMDR/TF-CBT expertise and proficient EHR usage.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Active and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
• A minimum of 2 years post-licensure experience in mental health counseling.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Proficient in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to client care.
• Ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and effectively.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in general computer applications.
• Ability to thrive within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate trauma history and identify treatment strategies.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans incorporating EMDR and TF-CBT.
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions to help patients process trauma and build coping skills.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and an interdisciplinary team to ensure integrated care.
• Deliver crisis interventions during trauma-related emergencies and provide immediate support.
• Educate patients and families about trauma responses and recovery resources.
• Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Stay informed about current research and best practices in trauma therapy.
