Job summary

Toole Design Group seeks a Transportation Planner for our Fresno, CA team. You will join an interdisciplinary group delivering multimodal, equity-focused transportation plans that serve diverse communities.

Responsibilities include leading analyses, managing tasks, and engaging with clients and communities through fieldwork and outreach. Travel regionally; remote collaboration supported by a strong, mentorship-driven culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in planning, engineering, design, public health, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field; additional years may substitute for the degree.
• Fluent in Spanish to engage with Spanish-speaking communities.
• Experience in multimodal transportation planning and public engagement.
• Ability to manage projects and communicate technical ideas clearly in writing.
• Proficient with Excel and comfortable with descriptive statistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead analyses and manage projects from vision to implementation.
• Engage with clients and communities via fieldwork and public outreach.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams across projects from local to regional scales.
• Support multimodal corridor studies, Safe Routes to School, and Complete Streets.
• Center equity, climate, safety, and health in planning work.
