Toole Design is seeking a Transportation Planner for our California team. You will lead analyses, manage projects, and engage with clients and communities to develop plans that move from vision to implementation.

The role supports safe, accessible, and equitable travel options across scales from local streets to regional corridors. Enjoy a flexible schedule, fully remote work with monthly travel to Oakland or Los Angeles offices, and a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in planning, engineering, design, public health, or related fields.
• Fluent in Spanish for community engagement.
• Experience with multimodal transportation planning and public engagement.
• Ability to manage projects and communicate technical ideas clearly in writing.
• Proficient in Excel; comfortable with descriptive statistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead analyses and manage projects/tasks for transportation studies.
• Engage directly with clients and communities to gather input.
• Travel occasionally around the region for fieldwork.
• Move plans from vision to implementation across scales from local to regional.
• Contribute to multimodal corridor studies, Safe Routes to School, and Complete Streets.
