Job summary

Leidos in Reston, Virginia is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to design overhead and underground transmission systems for major developers and utilities. You will work with a licensed PE mentor and gain increasing ownership of design decisions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Daily tasks include modeling with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE, evaluating structures, and producing construction-ready packages that move from concept to field deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of electric utility transmission line design experience.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• US location is required to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Model and analyze transmission structures using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER, applying standards.
• Support projects from routing and engineering analysis through construction-ready packages and close-out.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers across disciplines and with project management teams.
• Interface with clients through project work to develop communication skills.
• Under supervision of a licensed PE, increase ownership of design decisions.
