Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, focusing on electric transmission line design for high-voltage overhead and underground systems.

Ideal candidates are experienced Civil or Mechanical engineers with 2+ years, proficient in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE, and capable of independent execution as well as collaborating with PMs and clients. Hybrid work options and relocation assistance to commutable areas are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years in electric utility transmission design.
• Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Proven ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication for collaboration with clients and project teams.
• Willing to work at client sites and travel periodically.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical design and engineering tasks for high-voltage transmission lines, complying with codes and standards.
• Prepare and review drawings, specs, and calculations under guidance of Leads/PMs.
• Perform analyses including PLS-CADD modeling and structure loading calculations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement using new tools, AI, and automation platforms.
• Communicate project progress with the PM to manage schedule and budget.
• Maintain proficiency in industry software and Leidos design processes.
