Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Transmission Engineer to join our remote team supporting utility projects from Houston, TX. You will work with in-house and client engineers, lead project activities, and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

The role focuses on transmission line design from 12 kV to 765 kV, prepares construction documents, models designs with PLS-CADD, and coordinates permits with regulators. A PE is desirable but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of transmission line engineering experience.
• ABET-accredited degrees required; master's counted toward experience.
• PE license desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and design activities for transmission line projects, including analysis, route selection, material procurement, and construction management.
• Prepare construction documents such as plan and profile drawings and specifications.
• Develop design alternatives and cost estimates.
• Design transmission facilities from 12 kV to 765 kV.
• Model projects using PLS-CADD.
• Lead contractor bid and construction meetings and ensure safety and schedules.
• Coordinate with regulators to obtain permits.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to engineers.
