Job summary

GHY International is seeking a Trade Specialist to elevate client care in U.S. customs. You’ll go beyond processing entries to deliver accurate, proactive support for importers and exporters.

Reporting to the Client Care Manager, you’ll audit shipments, maintain client databases and work instructions, resolve issues, and share expertise with teammates to keep shipments moving smoothly. This remote-friendly, stay-connected role is ideal for a customs professional ready to own the client

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs rules and regulations.
• Advanced understanding of customs entry and commercial invoice requirements.
• Working knowledge of Partner Government Agency requirements and entry data elements.
• Knowledge of tariff classification, the General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs) and related notes.
• Exceptional client service and relationship-building skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Sound judgement for time-sensitive decisions.
• Experience navigating diverse client requirements and SOPs.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
• Experience with customs brokerage software.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own the client experience and support day-to-day client needs; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Audit customs entries and released shipments to identify errors and opportunities for improvement.
• Stay current on CBP regulations and PGAs; translate regulations into practical guidance.
• Communicate professionally with clients, carriers, vendors, Customs, and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain client work instructions, databases, and critical account information.
• Support accurate customs entry processing across transportation modes when needed.
