Trade Specialist | U.S. Customs & Client Care
Take your customs expertise beyond the entry.
At GHY, we don’t just move goods across borders. We help businesses navigate complexity, solve problems, and trade with confidence.
For more than a century, we’ve helped importers and exporters navigate global trade. As a Best-Managed Employer and family-led organization, we’ve built our reputation on expertise, integrity, innovation, and genuinely caring about our clients and one another.
If you know customs, enjoy solving problems, and are ready to take greater ownership of the client experience, this could be your next move.
As a Trade Specialist, you’ll go beyond processing customs entries to help ensure our clients receive accurate, consistent, and knowledgeable support.
Reporting to the Client Care Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day client needs, audit released shipments, maintain client databases and work instructions, and help resolve issues as they arise. You’ll also share your experience with colleagues and support the release team when additional expertise is needed.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced customs professional who is ready to take more ownership, deepen their technical knowledge, and become a trusted resource for both clients and teammates.
You know customs, but you also understand that great brokerage service is about more than getting an entry released.
You’re someone who asks questions, catches details others might miss, and takes ownership when something needs to be resolved. You’re equally comfortable digging into regulations, talking with a client, or helping a teammate work through a challenging entry.
You bring:
Location: We offer flexibility based on experience and location. Candidates within 2 hours of a GHY office may be considered without a U.S. Customs Broker License. For candidates located more than 2 hours from a GHY office, an active U.S. Customs Broker License is required.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Holidays: Two statutory holidays per year may be required
Compensation: Based on experience
Know Customs. Own the Details. Make an Impact.
You’ve built the foundation. Now it’s time to use that experience in a role where your judgment, client service, and customs knowledge make a bigger impact.
At GHY, you’ll solve problems, support clients, share what you know, and continue building your expertise alongside people who understand the complexities of international trade.
GHY is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business needs.
