Remote Tools Administration Lead – Jira, GitHub, Confluence

Job summary

CVP is seeking an experienced Lead Tools Administrator to support a federal government client in managing a robust DevOps, Agile, and collaboration toolset in a cloud-based environment. You will supervise a team of 4 tools administrators, provide technical leadership, and ensure tool availability across the WETG ecosystem.

You will own tool health, RBAC/SSO, upgrades, and security compliance while coordinating with multiple development teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience leading or supervising a team of technical administrators or engineers
• Demonstrated experience managing Jira at scale including workflow configuration, permission schemes, and Agile/SAFe board setup
• Proficiency with Confluence space administration, including template management and cross-team documentation governance
• Experience administering GitHub Enterprise, including repository management, branch policies, webhook configurations, and CI/CD integrations
• Experience configuring and managing Slack workspaces including integrations with developer toolchains
• Hands-on experience with SonarQube, including Quality Gate configuration, CI/CD pipeline integration, and security vulnerability triage
• Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
• Experience with SSO/MFA administration, preferably with Okta or similar identity providers
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud environments and cloud-based infrastructure management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing technical topics to stakeholders and drafting user-facing communications

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4 tools administrators with clear direction and performance coaching
• Oversee hands-on administration, configuration, and maintenance of Jira, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise, Slack, Mural, SonarQube and related plugins
• Manage RBAC and identity management via SSO/MFA across tools
• Plan tool upgrades, patches, and version updates with zero-downtime deployment strategies
• Draft and distribute user communications regarding tool changes, licenses, and actions
• Contribute to status reports on tool health, license compliance, and platform availability
• Drive automation and process improvements across the DevOps toolchain
• Represent the tools team in cross-functional Agile ceremonies and PI planning
