Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a Threat Detection Engineer to strengthen our cybersecurity posture through detection development, monitoring, threat hunting, and audit readiness initiatives. This role blends hands-on security engineering with governance, risk, and compliance to ensure controls are effective, measurable, and aligned with regulatory needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on detection engineering with SIEM rules at scale.
• Experience with SIEM platforms: Sentinel, Splunk ES, QRadar, Elastic.
• Strong knowledge of auditing principles and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain threat detection across enterprise environments.
• Develop, tune, and optimize SIEM use cases, detection rules, alerts, and correlations.
• Conduct threat hunting, security investigations, and event analysis.
• Coordinate with Security Operations, Incident Response, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams.
• Support audits by providing evidence, documentation, and responses.
• Evaluate security controls and recommend improvements for compliance and risk reduction.
• Align monitoring practices with regulatory standards and frameworks.
• Analyze logs and telemetry from network, endpoint, cloud, and apps.
• Develop dashboards and reports to measure detection effectiveness and readiness.
• Automate monitoring and reporting via scripting and workflow improvements.
• Participate in incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain documentation of controls, processes, and audit artifacts.
