Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC seeks a Threat Detection Engineer to strengthen cybersecurity through detection development, monitoring, threat hunting, and audit readiness initiatives. You will design detection content, maintain SIEM rules, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure effective security controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years hands-on detection engineering experience with SIEM rules at scale.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience in threat detection, security operations, incident response, or audits.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk ES, QRadar, or Elastic Security.
• Experience developing and maintaining detection rules, alerts, and monitoring processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain threat detection and monitoring capabilities across enterprise environments.
• Develop, tune, and optimize SIEM use cases, detection rules, alerts, and correlation logic.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting, investigations, and event analysis to identify threats.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Incident Response, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams to improve detection coverage.
• Support audits by providing evidence and responses to requests.
• Evaluate controls and enhance compliance, risk reduction, and operational effectiveness.
• Analyze logs and telemetry from network, endpoint, cloud, and apps.
• Develop dashboards and reports to measure detection effectiveness and compliance readiness.
