Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a Threat Detection Engineer to strengthen cybersecurity posture through development of detection capabilities, security monitoring, threat hunting, and audit readiness initiatives. You will design, implement, and maintain detection across enterprise environments and collaborate with multiple teams to improve coverage.

The role requires hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk ES, QRadar, Elastic), scripting in PowerShell or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, CS, or info systems.
• 5+ years hands-on detection engineering experience.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity roles (detection, security operations, incident response, auditing).
• Hands-on with SIEM platforms: Sentinel, Splunk ES, QRadar, or Elastic.
• Experience building detection content, rules, and correlation logic.
• Experience auditing controls and regulatory compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain threat detection and monitoring across enterprise environments.
• Tune and optimize SIEM use cases, rules, alerts, and correlation logic.
• Conduct threat hunting, investigations, and event analysis.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, IR, Infra, and Cloud teams to improve coverage.
• Support audits with evidence and responses to audit requests.
• Align monitoring practices with regulatory requirements and standards.
• Analyze logs and telemetry from network, endpoint, cloud, and apps.
• Develop dashboards and reporting to measure detection effectiveness.
