Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a Threat Detection Engineer to strengthen our cybersecurity posture through detection development, security monitoring, threat hunting, and audit readiness initiatives.

You will design and maintain detection across enterprise environments, tune SIEM rules, conduct investigations, and partner with Security Operations, Infra, and Cloud teams to improve coverage and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on threat detection and SIEM rule work.
• Experience with SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk ES, QRadar, Elastic).
• Experience developing/detecting rules, alerts, and monitoring processes.
• Knowledge of auditing principles, risk management, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain threat detection and monitoring capabilities across enterprise environments.
• Develop, tune, and optimize SIEM use cases, detection rules, alerts, and correlation logic.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting, security investigations, and event analysis to identify threats.
• Partner with Security Operations, Incident Response, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams to improve coverage and response.
• Support internal and external audits by providing evidence, documentation, and responses to audit requests.
• Evaluate security controls and align monitoring with regulatory standards.
