Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions across enterprise applications, including functional, API, and performance tests. This fully remote US role collaborates with DevSecOps, developers, and QA to embed testing in CI/CD pipelines and ensure broad test coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 8+ years of software development, testing and quality assurance experience.
• Hands-on test automation with Selenium WebDriver, Java and CI/CD tools; familiarity with 508 accessibility.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience designing/performance testing and data-driven testing using SQL.
• Strong SDLC/STLC, Agile, and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with VA clinical pharmacy apps/workflows (VistA, CPRS, FILEMAN, VA FORUM).
• Proven cross-functional collaboration and analytical troubleshooting skills, plus AI-assisted testing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites including functional, regression, API, and performance tests.
• Build automated API contract tests for internal and partner REST services.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate functionality, business rules, API integrations, and data processing.
• Create data-driven test scenarios using relational SQL and datasets.
• Monitor test execution and assist in defect identification.
• Maintain test assets, repositories, and documentation for sustainment.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, DevSecOps to ensure test coverage and quality.
• Explore AI-assisted test generation and reporting within the SDLC.
