Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for the Patient Care Services upgrade. This fully remote position supports API, functional, and performance testing and integrates with CI/CD pipelines across enterprise applications.

The role requires strong experience with Selenium, Java, and modern QA tools, plus knowledge of SDLC/DevSecOps and 508 accessibility. Collaboration with DevOps, QA, and developers is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline with 8+ years in software development, testing and QA.
• Hands-on automation with Selenium WebDriver, Java, VS Code, 508 accessibility, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, and Xray.
• Experience with VA clinical pharmacy applications and workflows (e.g., VistA, CPRS, FILEMAN, VA FORUM).
• Experience CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience designing and executing performance tests with standard tools.
• Ability to write relational SQL queries for test validation and data-driven testing.
• Strong SDLC/STLC, ALM, and DevSecOps knowledge (CI/CD).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration; AI-assisted testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated functional (including 508-accessibility), regression, API, smoke, and non-functional tests (e.g., performance).
• Develop automated API contract tests for internal and partner REST services.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate application functionality, business rules, API integrations, and data processing across enterprise systems.
• Develop data-driven test scenarios using relational SQL and datasets.
• Monitor test execution, analyze results, and support defect resolution.
• Maintain automated test assets, repositories, and documentation for long-term sustainment.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, testers, and DevSecOps to ensure full test coverage and quality.
• Evaluate AI-assisted test generation and reporting within the SDLC where appropriate.
