Job summary

EMC Insurance Companies seeks a Territory Management Consultant to lead agency partnerships and profitable premium growth within a defined territory. You will build in-person relationships with agency leaders, deliver expert insights, and implement bold, results-driven strategies while collaborating across internal teams.

You will manage the business development process in the assigned market, focusing on pipeline growth and renewal retention, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business or equivalent work experience.
• Five years of experience in property and casualty underwriting, claims, sales territory development, or agency work.
• Insurance designations such as CPCU or CIC, or an agent license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees an assigned territory with agency partners to drive profitable premium growth.
• Creates and executes territory and agency strategies using company programs and resources.
• Owns the business development process with focus on pipeline growth and renewal retention.
• Identifies prospects for new agencies within the territory and surveys prospective agencies.
• Builds complex agency partnerships with ownership and frontline team members.
• Develops strong producer relationships through visibility and joint sales planning.
• Communicates with branch teams about agency relationships and coordinates actions to address issues.
• Executes an agency management sales plan to maximize production and profit in the territory.
• Leads territory and agency management processes (prospecting, business planning, engagement, training, compensation).
