Job summary

Norstella is seeking a Technical Lead to guide a team of developers and engineers, delivering high-quality software products. You will partner with product management, architecture, and other software teams to drive the roadmap in a fast-paced, remote U.S.

environment. The role emphasizes leadership, robust backend skills with Java and Spring Boot, cloud experience, and a passion for learning in AI-enabled platforms, data services, and scalable microservices.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 9+ years of Java programming experience.
• 4+ years with Spring Boot and Spring Batch Frameworks.
• 2+ years cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• 4+ years in open source frameworks.
• Proficient with AI tools Cursor and Claude.
• 2+ years Agile practices.
• 2+ years with modern relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MySQL).
• 3+ years designing, developing and architecting backend microservices with RESTful APIs and security frameworks.
• 4+ years using build/deploy tools such as Jenkins and Docker.
• Experience in pharma/healthcare sector is a plus.

• Collaborate with developers on the team to ensure code quality and consistency
• Help Troubleshoot and debug issues in production and non-production environments
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our coding practices and standards
