Job summary

Norstella is seeking a Technical Lead to guide a team of developers delivering enterprise software for life sciences data and AI solutions. You will lead in architecture, cloud services, and backend development, while shaping a positive team culture and technical direction.

The role requires deep Java experience, Spring Boot expertise, cloud familiarity, and a passion for learning in a fast-changing technology landscape. Remote within the United States is supported.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of people management experience.
• 9+ years of experience in programming with Java.
• 4+ years with Spring Boot and Spring Batch.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS/GCP/Azure.
• 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks.
• Proficient in using AI tools like Cursor and Claude.
• 2+ years of experience with Agile practices.
• 2+ years experience with modern relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MySQL).
• 3+ years designing, developing and architecting backend microservices with RESTful APIs and security.
• 4+ years using build/deploy tools like Jenkins and Docker.
• Experience with TDD and pharma/healthcare sector is a plus.
