Job summary

Pearson Evaluation Systems seeks qualified scorers to remotely evaluate responses from New York teacher candidates. You will apply scoring standards, participate in discussions, and work with other scorers to ensure consistent grading.

Requirements include teaching credentials or recent experience in content area and ability to work remotely from the United States. Training is provided and sessions occur weekdays with occasional scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse)
• Ability to sit for extended periods
• Confidential work environment
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Current teaching certification in subject area and teaching within last 3 years OR educators from colleges/universities with relevant experience OR degree with recent content-area employment

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in consensus scoring activities
• Recognize and discuss various bias types and strategies to reduce bias in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements including passing a qualifying test
