H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Virtual Tax Professional to remotely assist clients with diverse tax needs, supported by an expert team. You will provide tax interviews, prepare individual and small business returns, and ensure compliance with IRS regulations.

Qualifications

• Three years of tax preparation or review experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred, but equivalent education and experience considered.
• Experience with IRS transcripts, amendments, and prior year return identification.
• Strong verbal and written communication, especially across digital platforms.
• Knowledge of tax law and ability to explain concepts to clients.
• Analytical skills to assess routine and complex tax situations.
• Ability to work in a diverse, collaborative team.
• Internet speed of at least 15 Mbps.

Responsibilities

• Take a consultative approach by understanding clients' financial goals and identifying potential tax savings.
• Establish rapport with clients through empathetic, effective virtual communication.
• Conduct tax interviews for retail and DIY online clients via video, phone, chat, or email.
• Review and complete accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses in line with IRS regulations.
• Analyze IRS transcripts to identify missed filings or amendments.
• Provide ethical, credible advice and maintain confidentiality with client data.
• Keep up to date with tax laws, tools, and technology; pursue ongoing training.
• Utilize H&R Block digital tools to streamline tax prep and client experience.
• Collaborate with staff to meet office goals and support peers.
