Job summary

SES Space & Defense is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide requirements development, interface definition, and verification planning for a large Government space program. You will craft ICDs/IRDs, manage traceability, and ensure alignment across space, ground, software, and cybersecurity teams.

The role emphasizes MBSE, SysML modeling, and collaboration with multidisciplinary engineers to demonstrate compliance during SRR/PDR/CDR and other formal reviews.

Qualifications

• BS in Systems/Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of systems engineering experience in aerospace/defense/space.
• Experience with requirements development, decomposition, traceability, verification.
• Experience with MBSE, SysML, or modeling tools (Cameo, etc.).
• Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system, subsystem, interface requirements and verification artifacts.
• Create, maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Requirements Documents (IRDs).
• Support verification planning, matrices, test plans and reports.
• Ensure alignment of requirements, interfaces, and architecture across teams.
• Drive issue resolution for interface gaps and inconsistencies.
