Job summary

E-Space in Saratoga, CA is seeking a Chief Systems Engineer to lead space system architecture, IC decisions, and the digital thread across a multi-satellite program. You will own SRD, ICDs, and TPMs while coordinating across RF, power, structures, software, and semiconductors.

With 15+ years in space systems engineering and Constellation program experience, you will drive requirements closure, system-level tradeoffs, and MBSE adoption, including DOORS NG, Cameo, and SysML.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive systems engineering experience in the space industry, with at least one flight project from SRR to on-orbit operations.
• Experience with Constellation programs; direct accountability for spacecraft-level architecture and cross-vehicle interface management.
• Direct responsibility for requirements traceability and verification closure; defended baselines at formal reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, QR).
• Background in RF link design, phased array systems, modem/waveform, or OSI Layer 1–2 protocol architecture.
• Hands-on subsystem leadership (payload, bus, or ground) before moving to systems engineering; proven multi-discipline team building.
• Experience presenting to and defending technical baselines before external review boards.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the System Requirements Document (SRD), ICDs, and resource budgets across the program lifecycle.
• Lead system-level trade studies across spacecraft, ground, and user terminal interfaces; decompose requirements to subsystems.
• Own spacecraft-level electrical architecture and define the ICD framework; enforce power distribution, grounding, EMI/EMC, signal integrity.
• Oversee assembly, integration & test including Gate processes, FlatSat, TVAC, Vibration/Acoustic, EMI/EMC campaigns.
• Establish and drive the V&V plan with TPMs and traceability from SRD to test evidence; chair TRB.
• Act as the primary escalation point for inter-division technical disputes; manage ECOs as CCB member.
• Own the program digital thread; promote MBSE usage with DOORS NG, Cameo, SysML across the team.
