Job summary

E-Space is developing a high-performance LEO space systems for IoT connectivity, requiring a Mission Systems Engineer to own requirements, interfaces, verification plans and MBSE artifacts for a government contract. You will coordinate across subsystems, lead design reviews, and ensure traceability from concept to on-orbit operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive systems engineering experience in space or defense, including ownership of requirements, ICD, or verification on a program from design review to delivery or on-orbit operations.
• Government contract experience on a US space/satellite program with familiarity navigating reviews, CDRLs, and furnished requirements.
• Direct responsibility for requirements traceability and verification closure; presentation at reviews.
• Hands-on subsystem or mission engineering experience across payload, bus, ground, RF/comms.
• Familiarity with RF link design, phased arrays, modem/waveform, OSI layers 1–2.
• Ability to make technical decisions and risk trade-offs with oversight.
• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Mission requirements ownership—decompose customer requirements and maintain the compliance matrix.
• Interface control—baselining ICDs and coordinating changes with subsystem owners.
• Verification & Validation—develop and execute V&V plans and TPMs; plan environmental tests and address data.
• Integration & Test support—plan AI&T activities, FlatSat/HW in the loop, readiness reviews.
• Program and customer interface—act as technical point of contact for reviews and milestones.
• Configuration management—maintain baseline and handling engineering change orders.
• Digital thread/MBSE—maintain traceability across requirements, design, V&V, and as-built records.
• Contract deliverables—assist in preparing CDRLs and other government data items.
