Job summary

ABB is seeking a Systems Drives Field Service Engineer to support our growing system drives business across the USA. The role requires 80% travel to service demand-based customers and involves leading field service activities for ABB drives and motors.

The position is remote (must be in Indiana) and reports to the Systems Drives Operations Manager. Candidates should have a strong technical background in AC/DC drive systems and be able to write technical reports and work 24/7 as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 7 years of technical work experience.
• Associates Degree with 5 years of technical work experience.
• Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of technical work experience.
• Understanding of AC and DC drive systems.
• In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 5 years of field service engineering for AC/DC drives; 3 years with test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installation supervision of new equipment at customer sites per manufacturer specs.
• Interpret manuals, schematics, and software; repair equipment using electronics knowledge and tools.
• Lead workers in servicing ABB equipment and train customers in drive operation.
• Consult with engineering to resolve system operation problems.
