Job summary

ABB is seeking a Systems Drives Field Service Engineer to support our growing drives business across the USA. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, field service engineering, and leadership on commissioning drive systems.

Position requires 80% travel and a remote work model in Wisconsin, reporting to the Systems Drives Operations Manager. Strong electronics background and ABB tool familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with significant technical experience in drives and motors.
• Associates degree with relevant technical work experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of technical work experience preferred.
• Experience with AC/DC drive systems and field service engineering in ABB environment is a plus.
• Ability to analyze and test system hardware and software performance.
• Must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation supervision at customer sites per manufacturer specs.
• Repair equipment using electronics knowledge and test instruments.
• Lead workers in servicing ABB equipment and train customers on drive operation.
• Coordinate with engineering to resolve unusual system problems.
• Provide feedback on customer satisfaction and product performance.
• Utilize ABB tools such as Drive Composer, SAP, and Microsoft products.
