Job summary

World Business Lenders (WBL) seeks an experienced Chief Legal Officer to lead the Asset Resolution Department nationwide. You will direct foreclosure, bankruptcy, and creditor-recovery efforts, with oversight of outside counsel and litigation budgets.

Responsibilities include creating strategy, risk assessment, and high-level reporting to executives, while collaborating with Compliance, Finance, and Operations to maximize asset value.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active license in good standing.
• 10+ years of substantive legal experience overseeing multi-state foreclosure and default litigation.
• Experience leading a national or multi-state foreclosure/default litigation function and managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and legal oversight for Asset Resolution Department nationwide.
• Oversee foreclosure, bankruptcy, lawsuits, title matters, and other creditor-recovery litigation strategies.
• Manage outside counsel relationships and legal spend, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Develop portfolio analytics and executive reporting for recovery performance and litigation trends.
• Coordinate with C-suite and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize risk and returns.
