Job summary

World Business Lenders (WBL) is seeking an Asset Resolution Counsel to lead the legal strategy for non-performing real estate loans across the United States. The role partners with internal teams and outside counsel to maximize recoveries while minimizing risk and timelines.

You will oversee portfolio management, supervise staff, and coordinate loss mitigation activities, including negotiation, litigation, and foreclosures, drawing on extensive commercial lending and real estate expertise.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from a nationally accredited U.S. law school (preferred).
• Experience in commercial litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and real estate loss mitigation.
• Experience successfully managing non-performing loan (NPL) pools and REO portfolios.
• Experience supervising, developing, and mentoring case management staff.
• Litigation experience and familiarity with litigation management tools.
• Experience working for a U.S.-based company.

Responsibilities

• Lead legal strategy, portfolio management, and resolution efforts for non-performing commercial real estate loans.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and borrowers to maximize recoveries.
• Monitor litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and related deadlines; supervise attorneys and staff.
• Direct liaison with vendors, support loss mitigation decisions, and propose settlements.
• Conduct quarterly reviews of the portfolio to reassess recovery estimates and costs.
