Actalent in Florida seeks a Substation Project Engineer to lead high-voltage substation projects from development through construction and commissioning. You will guide internal teams, ensure designs meet IEEE/NESC/ASCE standards, and manage budgets, schedules, and stakeholder communications.

The role offers remote work flexibility with Florida-based teams in Juno Beach and Jupiter West, and the opportunity to work on complex transmission initiatives in a growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering (preferred).
• Approximately 4+ years in substation design/engineering for HV projects or closely related field.
• Demonstrated project engineering/management experience with action and ownership.
• Experience planning, coordinating, delivering technical projects within budgets and schedules.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong technical aptitude; ability to review complex designs and studies.
• Ability to apply IEEE, NESC, ASCE standards in substation design/construction.
• Proven capability to coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation projects from conception through commissioning.
• Define engineering requirements, scope, and deliverables for transmission/substation projects.
• Plan, coordinate, and complete large-scale or multiple projects within budgets and schedules.
• Manage budgets, schedules, risks, and change control using formal processes.
• Conduct project meetings; handle reporting and performance analysis.
• Provide technical oversight for external engineers of record and consultants.
• Communicate progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders; develop status presentations.
• Support estimating, supply chain, and legal teams with engineering input.
