Job summary

Leidos Engineering is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Strategic Project Consulting team within the Power Delivery Solutions division. You will oversee a portfolio of electric utility capital projects focused on substations, overseeing construction, expansions, and protection & control upgrades while coordinating across diverse teams.

You will drive portfolio performance, lead client and internal stakeholder communications, and identify opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Construction Management, or other relevant field.
• 8+ years of progressive Project Management experience within the Utility Industry.
• Demonstrated experience with US electric utilities and understanding of electric power infrastructure.
• Substation project experience (design, construction, and/or commissioning) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead project execution teams across Engineering, Construction, Permitting, Siting, Environmental, Cost Controls and Scheduling to deliver capital projects for electric utilities.
• Own portfolio performance including cost, schedule, and scope; act as escalation point for at-risk substation projects and apply recovery/risk strategies.
• Serve as primary client and internal stakeholder contact, presenting portfolio health and project status; resolve escalated issues and drive risk mitigation.
• Manage monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable processes.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities to support growth and expand client relationships.
• Establish project controls, contract compliance, and quality standards; lead post-project audits and lessons-learned reviews.
• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and champion portfolio-wide risk management processes.
