Job summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking a Substation Designer in Birmingham, AL to create 2D and 3D drawings for transmission and distribution substations. You will use AutoCAD, Inventor, and Map 3D to develop layouts, specifications, and material lists, ensuring safety, quality, and cost efficiency.

You will coordinate with engineers and other departments, order materials, and support construction through site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Associate degree with at least 5 years of related industry experience.
• High school diploma with significant related industry experience of at least 8 years.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D drawings and 3D models for electrical substations.
• Produce specifications and material requirements for substation projects.
• Coordinate with engineers and other departments on design packages.
• Specify and order material for substations.
• Transmit drawing packages using project transmittal program.
• Site visits and travel as required (up to ~25%).
• Support Substation Construction, Field Services, PM, and Maintenance.
