Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer-Physical Design in Tampa, FL to draft substation layouts, perform protection and grounding analyses, and fine-tune relay settings for safe, reliable energy delivery.

You will collaborate across disciplines and see designs deployed in the field. You will develop GA drawings, grounding and foundation plans, and coordinate with Civil Engineering; perform design calculations, specify equipment, and provide field support during construction and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Substation engineering with a focus on physical design.
Familiarity with substation physical design parameters and data needed to complete design.
Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Strong familiarity with NESC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards.
Willingness to enter energized substations with proper training and PPE.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

Substation Design & Drafting: Create drawings such as GA, elevations, conduit, grounding, foundation, lighting, and control layouts.
Engineering Analysis & Calculations: Perform ground grid, lightning protection, voltage drop, and conduit fill analyses.
Technical Documentation & Specifications: Develop equipment specs and work scopes.
Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Ensure accurate, on-time electrical design meeting standards.
Field Support: Provide on-site technical support during construction and commissioning.
