Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Substation Designer - Physical Designer to support the Power Delivery group in multiple U.S. locations including Tampa, FL, with some remote options.

You will draft substation layouts, perform design calculations, and collaborate with engineers to deliver safe, reliable energy infrastructure. The role requires 3+ years in substation design, proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD, and willingness to travel for client site visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Substation designing.
• Familiarity with relay protection schemes.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to enter energized substations with proper training and PPE.
• Proficiency with Windows and Office applications.
• Willingness to travel for client site visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Substation Design & Drafting: Develop substation drawings and layouts and coordinate with Civil Engineering for foundation/structure details.
• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: Perform protection, voltage drop, and conduit calculations.
• Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Ensure on-time, compliant electrical design across teams.
• Field Support: Provide on-site technical support during construction and commissioning.
