Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. seeks a Substation Engineer–Physical Design to design substations across multiple U.S. offices or remotely. You will draft layouts, perform protection/grounding studies, and adjust relay settings to maintain a safe, reliable grid.

Qualifications include a ABET‑accredited degree and 6+ years in substation design, with MicroStation/AutoCAD proficiency and PE preferred. Travel to client sites and strong collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Substation engineering with a focus on physical design.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with NESC, IEEE, and other codes and standards.
• Willingness to enter energized substations with proper PPE.
• Proficient with Windows and MS Office; strong communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Substation design & drafting: GA, elevations, conduit/grounding/foundation/lightning plans, control buildings; coordinate with Civil Engineering.
• Engineering calculations: ground grid analysis, lightning protection, voltage drop, conduit fill.
• Develop technical equipment specifications and work scopes.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure timely, compliant designs.
• Provide on-site technical support during construction and commissioning.
