Job summary

Actalent seeks a Substation Engineering Team Lead to guide a growing team of physical substation engineers and designers delivering complex substation projects nationwide. You will provide technical direction, manage project performance, and contribute to business development in a fully remote environment with strong growth opportunities.

The role requires leadership of 5+ engineers, collaboration with utility clients, and travel to client meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred but not required.
• Experience with operational performance management (utilization, forecasting, profitability).
• Background in utility design and electrical utility projects.
• Ability to support proposals and client presentations.
• Comfort working with geographically distributed teams across regions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor substation engineers and designers.
• Oversee planning and delivery of substation projects within scope, time, and budget.
• Provide technical guidance on complex substation designs and standards.
• Manage performance metrics including utilization and profitability.
• Coordinate resources for a team of 5+ engineers across the US.
• Conduct peer reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
• Support business development and client engagements.
• Travel as needed to client meetings across the US.
