Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Substation Engineer to lead engineering designs for utility substations, ensuring compliance with NEC/NESC/NEMA/IEEE and industry standards. You will mentor engineers, support proposals, and coordinate cross-discipline design activities.

You will deliver detailed substation layouts, grounding, and equipment specs while interacting with clients and project teams to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or related field.
• Experience creating and reviewing substation design drawings.
• Proficient with NEC, NESC, NEMA, ANSI, and IEEE standards.
• Ability to lead staff, manage priorities, and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Act as project lead or independent reviewer for assigned projects.
• Provide technical support for clients and assist business development.
• Lead and mentor teams of engineers and designers.
• Support proposal creation and scope development.
• Coordinate design activities with other disciplines.
• Conduct field visits for site walkdowns and construction support.
• Deliver engineering designs for substations including layouts and grounding.
• Perform studies and prepare equipment specifications.
