Job summary

Actalent is seeking a senior supervisor to lead the Substation Engineering department in New Albany, OH. You will manage budgets, schedules, and personnel while guiding technical and non-technical teams to deliver projects for clients.

This role emphasizes leadership, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering and operations. You will mentor leads, maintain quality standards, estimate project scopes, and communicate progress to management and customers.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership skills managing large or small teams of diverse skill sets.
• Working knowledge of protection engineering tools and software including ASPEN, MathCAD, GE UR, SEL AcSelerator and 5010.
• Working knowledge of Microstation and Bentley ProjectWise.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Customer focused.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and training in Substation Engineering to the department and Leads.
• Establish, monitor, and maintain quality control standards for design services standards and products.
• Monitor and maintain the budgets and schedules for all projects and workflows.
• Develop and/or review the conceptual project scopes and communicate the scope to stakeholders; provide cost estimates for projects.
• Hold teams accountable to project estimates and schedules; issue change orders as needed.
• Directly manage Leads and individual contributors in the department.
• Interface with the customer to drive business processes and ensure workflow efficiency.
• Prepare written technical performance reports and brief management on project status and budget.
• Determine customer needs and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth processes.
• Distribute workflow from customer to internal Leads to allocate to their teams.
• Resolve invoicing, resourcing, and staffing issues; address process disagreements with customers.
