Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Subrogation Professional 2 to investigate accidents, injuries, and claim events to determine Humana’s right to recover payments.

You will gather information from members, providers, adjusters, attorneys, and other parties; review payments; create liens; and negotiate recovery when appropriate. Remote work with occasional office visits for training; typical hours are Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of subrogation claims handling in healthcare or related insurance fields.
• Strong communication with attorneys, providers, adjusters, and members.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to use multiple claim systems.

Responsibilities

• Review new accident/injury/claim events to assess subrogation applicability.
• Contact involved parties by phone or email to gather details.
• Investigate facts: what happened, date/location, fault, parties involved.
• Identify responsible parties and provide notice of potential recovery.
• Review payments and create or update liens as needed.
• Negotiate lien repayment amounts with attorneys or others.
• Document conversations and research in appropriate systems.
• Manage workload and meet productivity and recovery targets.
• Research claims using multiple systems to complete daily work.
• Work independently and escalate complex issues when required.
