Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Subrogation Professional 2 to investigate accident or claim events and determine Humana's recovery rights. You will gather details from members, providers, adjusters, and attorneys, review payments, and manage liens. This role reports to a supervisor and involves negotiating repayment when appropriate.

Remote work is available; occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be required. Strong communication and multitasking across systems are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of subrogation claims handling experience in healthcare or related fields.
• 2+ years phone customer service handling escalated situations with attorneys or members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for forms, reports and documents.
• Ability to multitask across several computer systems throughout the day.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review new accident or claim events to determine subrogation applicability.
• Contact involved parties by phone or email to gather details.
• Investigate facts including date, location, fault, and coverage information.
• Identify responsible parties and document Humana’s recovery interest.
• Create, update, and maintain liens based on paid claims and negotiate when needed.
• Document conversations and actions in appropriate systems and keep records current.
• Balance workload and meet monthly productivity and recovery expectations.
