Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking a Subrogation Professional 2 to investigate accident and claim events to determine Humana’s potential recovery. You will gather information from members, providers, adjusters, attorneys, and other parties, review payments, and create or update liens as needed.

The role is remote with occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings. Typical hours are Monday–Friday; 40 hours per week, with compensation disclosed in the pay range.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of subrogation claims handling in healthcare, property & casualty, or workers’ compensation insurance.
• 2+ years phone customer service handling escalated situations with attorneys, providers or members.
• Microsoft Office proficiency – Word and Excel.
• Experience multitasking across several computer systems.
• Basic proficiency with computers, email, phone systems, and data entry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review new accident, injury, or claim events to determine subrogation or liability.
• Contact members, providers, adjusters, attorneys, and others to gather claim details.
• Investigate facts of the incident: what happened, date, location, fault, parties, insurance.
• Review claim payments and create/update liens as needed.
• Negotiate lien repayment amounts with attorneys or parties.
