Job summary

PerkinElmer is seeking a Strategic Segment Manager to own the full go-to-market strategy for Petrochemicals, Mining & Metals. This market-facing, intelligence-led role sits at the intersection of product strategy and commercial execution.

The Strategic Segment Manager is the organisation's foremost expert on their assigned market: the customer workflows, regulatory dynamics, and purchasing patterns that determine how PerkinElmer wins or loses in that segment.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in product management, segment marketing, market intelligence, or applications science within analytical instrumentation or related tech.
Deep domain expertise in the assigned segment with ability to engage credibly with customer scientists.
Structured VOC programmes and translating customer insight into rigorous strategy inputs.
Experience producing Market Requirements Documents, market assessments, or competitive analyses.

Responsibilities

Own the segment go-to-market strategy: target profiles, campaigns, value proposition, and messaging.
Develop MRDs and ensure adoption into VP Product Line roadmaps.
Produce enablement tools like battlecards, guides, and sales playbooks for field teams.
Lead VOC programs and translate advisory input into commercial and product actions.
Represent the segment at conferences and advisory events; influence cross-functional teams.
