Job summary

Symetra is seeking a STD Case Manager to make timely, accurate disability claim decisions and support absence management processes across STD, SDI, and AM. You will gather data from clinical, employer, and internal sources and analyze against contracts and procedures.

You will communicate findings verbally and in writing, documenting in the claims system and contributing to performance metrics. This role offers the chance to work with a collaborative team in a dynamic environment.

About The Role

Make timely, accurate, and customer-focused Short-Term Disability, and/or Statutory Disability Insurance, and/or Absence Management claim decisions. Proactively reach out to clinical, vocational, employer, financial, and other informational internal and external sources to gather relevant data, compare it to the applicable contract/administrative agreement and procedural documents, conduct an analysis, and engage peers and management as appropriate. Communicate verbally and in writing and fully leverage the claim system with accurate and comprehensive information. Maintain performance at or above departmental metrics. Be nimble and agile.
