Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a State Management Sr Analyst to provide analytical support and leadership for State Managers. You will gather and analyze financial data, identify trends, and contribute to initiatives that drive profitable growth through pricing, market development and reporting.

Reporting to senior product managers, you will prepare standard and ad hoc reports, coordinate communication across functions, and help implement state-specific strategies to meet profit targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
• Progress toward CPCU, AU CIC, INS ARM, Actuarial exams or similar designations preferred.
• Three years of experience in property and casualty insurance or related area and experience with data analysis preferred.
• Knowledge of analytical tools, pricing methodologies, reporting and MS Office capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs analysis and provides recommendations to State Management with minimal supervision.
• Provides rate revision support, attends meetings and completes analyses.
• Reviews competitor filings and consolidates input from the field.
• Reviews monthly profit and loss statements and reports with State Managers to identify variances and trends.
• Monitors progress toward financial goals and growth targets.
• Supports state managers with quarterly state forecast reviews.
• Communicates results professionally and coordinates across functions.
