Job summary

B Consulting partners with high-growth startups to build and run their finance and accounting functions. This 100% remote role puts you in the driver’s seat, working with founders and operators to bring clarity and scalable systems.

As Controller, you’ll own the monthly close, provide decision-ready financials, mentor a cross-border team, and interface with auditors. You’ll leverage your hands-on experience across payroll, benefits, and tax to help startups scale intelligently.

Qualifications

• Experience leading finance for startup or high-growth companies.
• Hands-on payroll, benefits, and systems ownership.
• Experience with both technical and operational accounting.
• Experience working with founders in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance for multiple startup clients.
• Own the monthly close and deliver decision-ready financials.
• Translate financial results into insights for founders.
• Build and improve processes, systems, and controls as companies scale.
• Mentor a team (onshore + offshore) to execute day-to-day accounting.
• Serve as primary contact for auditors, tax partners, and external stakeholders.
• Own payroll and benefits administration (Gusto, Rippling, ADP, Justworks, etc.).
• Build finance processes in companies without full infrastructure.
