Job summary

B Consulting is seeking an experienced accounting leader to own the monthly close for a portfolio of funded startups. You’ll work with founders, review work from offshore accountants, and focus on judgment and client conversations rather than routine reconciliations.

You’ll partner with Controllers, translate numbers for non-finance founders, and guide a modern tech stack including Puzzle, Ramp, Rho, Rippling, Carta, Numeral. This role offers a path to Controller and fully remote work.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience, including managing or reviewing other accountants
• Experience serving multiple clients or entities at once; public accounting, outsourced accounting, or multi-entity corporate role
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP; revenue recognition, deferred revenue, prepaid and accrued expenses
• Hands-on ownership of a full-cycle monthly close
• Fluency in QuickBooks Online or Xero
• Strong Google Sheets skills — pivot tables, SUMIFS, model maintenance
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (preferred)
• Comfortable leading client calls without a Controller present

Responsibilities

• The monthly close for multiple clients.
• Review and guide offshore team work product.
• Reconciliations, accruals, and deferred journal entries.
• Update financial models and cash forecasts with actuals.
• Manage client budgets.
• Engage in recurring client calls and translate numbers for founders.
• Partner with Controllers on advisory work.
