Hims & Hers is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Subscriptions and Membership Platform. You will lead scalable backend design, own core systems, and mentor teams to deliver high-impact features that improve patient retention and engagement.

The role combines backend excellence with frontend awareness across React/Next.js tech. Remote-friendly in the United States, you will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to drive secure, reliable, and high-performance

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with backend systems and cloud environments (AWS).
• Proficiency with Java/Kotlin and distributed services.
• Familiarity with frontend tech (HTML/CSS/JS) and modern frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of scalable backend solutions.
• Own core subscription and membership systems including lifecycle management.
• Mentor engineers and establish coding and testing standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• Drive security, scalability, and performance improvements.
