Job summary

Pax8, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to shape the future of our cloud commerce platform from a remote US location. You will lead architecture and service evolution across the Pax8 ecosystem, partnering with multiple teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.

The role emphasizes AI-enabled engineering, governance, and strong engineering standards. You will mentor engineers, drive modernization programs, and ensure reliability while aligning with business goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Extensive experience designing and evolving large-scale distributed systems.
Strong technical communication and architectural documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture and evolution of platform services powering multiple teams and products.
Design scalable, resilient systems with long-term platform strategy.
Proactively mitigate operational risks and enforce governance standards.
Use data to assess value of engineering investments and steer direction.
Guide migrations and platform modernization with minimal disruption.
Provide architectural guidance and reference designs to elevate engineering practices.
Establish reliability, security, and AI governance standards.
Mentor engineers to raise technical judgment and engineering excellence.
Drive responsible AI adoption ensuring quality, safety, and business value.
