Housecall Pro is seeking a Staff QA Engineer I to shape the quality culture across global product teams. You will design AI-enhanced testing strategies, implement MCP-based test workflows, and guide engineers in robust automation and validation practices.

You will mentor junior engineers, define safe AI usage in testing, and collaborate with MLOps, Platform, Product, and Engineering to ensure scalable quality. This role offers remote work with strong equity potential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in quality assurance engineering with both manual and automated testing.
• Proficiency with automated testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, CircleCI).
• Experience operationalizing AI-assisted and agentic testing workflows.
• Hands-on AI-assisted testing with MCP-based generation/execution.
• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (JIRA, TestRail).
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven ability to improve team efficiency via AI and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI adoption and develop AI-enhanced testing workflows across squads.
• Define safe, reliable use of AI within test pipelines and measure ROI.
• Design agentic testing workflows using MCP technologies across teams.
• Lead root-cause analysis when workflows degrade and address false positives.
• Partner with MLOps, platform, Product, and Engineering to establish standards.
• Create machine-readable test cases for AI-assisted test generation.
• Improve QA methodologies, frameworks, and standards across Engineering.
• Collaborate with Product/Engineering to refine requirements and coverage.
• Mentor QA and engineers in advanced testing techniques and automation.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
